Celebrate Local Volunteer Achievement

Albuquerque, NM � Join Futures for Children, recipient of the 2004 NM Governor's Award - Helping Hands Nonprofit Volunteer Program of the Year Award, to celebrate community volunteer achievement on Saturday May 5th.

Hosted at the Futures for Children Learning Center, the celebration will honor more than 200 committed tribal community volunteers who deliver critical educational resources and programming to nine local Pueblos, the Navajo and Hopi nations.

The day-long celebration will include volunteer certification training, workshops, Native guest speakers and will conclude with an awards dinner at 6:00 pm. At dinner, the Futures for Children 2005 Volunteer of the Year Award Winners will be recognized.

Headquartered in Albuquerque, NM since 1968, the successful Futures for Children program depends upon a broad and committed volunteer base to deliver its mission: Improving the quality of American Indian children through mentoring and training.

�Futures community volunteers supply the critical energy, communication and relationships necessary to ensure program acceptance and success� says FFC President Jim West. Based on three Circles of Support, Futures for Children provides vitally needed training, encouragement and resources to American Indian children and their families.
