Youth Leadership in the Community
Youth Leadership in the Community
Futures for Children listens to how schools and communities would like to start a Youth Leadership group and A PARTNERSHIP IS FORMED. Futures for Children invites the designated Youth Leadership Project Coach(es) to take part in hands-on trainings. Trainings are offered throughout the year in many locations including Hopi, Gallup, Chinle, and Albuquerque.
Futures for Children delivers the Youth Leadership curriculum (available in elementary, middle and high school levels) – as many as needed. The Youth Leadership curriculum reinforces many objectives found in the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act including important language arts and workplace skills.
Futures for Children provides follow up support to Youth Leadership groups. Regional Coordinators visit and provide continual support and involvement. Through planning and carrying out service projects, students gain the knowledge and skills to become the leaders of tomorrow.
